Week 4

Dear students,
Your homework was to write one of the body paragraphs of a classification essay from the classification chart that you drew in class. You should write about 100 words. In addition, your essay as a group should include three citations:  a dictionary definition, a quote, and an expert opinion, all of which should be APA formatted in-text citations.
In class, you will read a classification essay, analyze it, and learn how to write a "Works Cited" to match your in-text citations.
Finally, you will review in-text citations, so please download the print and bring it to class.

Your portfolio should include your final paper (50 points) and two homework assignments (10 points each). For one assignment you should demonstrate your understanding of how to use another writer's words corrctly, to strengthen your argument and to avoid plagiarism (summary, paraphrase, direct quotation, indirect quotation).
